Beginner’s Matcha

100% pure & organic — 80 g

Original Japanese Green Tea Powder
Shaded for 3 weeks – First flush

Biotona Bio Beginner’s Matcha is an olive green, refined green tea from Japan with a slightly bitter flavour. Made exclusively from young tea leaves, which are traditionally handpicked at the beginning of May (the first harvest), after an overshadowing period of 3 weeks. Beginner’s Matcha is also suitable for use in the kitchen.

Ingredients
Matcha green tea* (Camellia sinensis) (100%) from Japan. *organic culture
Use

One of the options for drinking our tea powders is to use the following traditional method of preparation:

Bring fresh and preferably soft (lightly mineralised) water to the boil. Allow the water to cool to around 80°C (for example, take the lid off the kettle and wait for 10 minutes or pour the water back and forth four or five times into a separate receptacle). Add 1 to 2 g of tea powder (2 bamboo spoons or ½ a teaspoon, depending on your preference) to a bowl or cup and pour in the water (70-100 ml). Beat the tea for about 15 seconds with a bamboo whisk, until the fluid has a nice foamy top.

Naturally, this is not the only way to enjoy our tea powders. Why not drink your Matcha like many Japanese do: pure with ice cold water or 'on the rocks'. Alternatively, why not add some Matcha to your favourite smoothie, shake or warm drink. You can even add it to ice-cream, cakes and gastronomic dishes, using it with other herbs and spices!

Keep in a cool, dry and dark place.
