Spiced apple quinoa breakfast bowls

Take the edge off those cold mornings with this delicious bowl of warm breakfast goodness. This morning meal will not only keep you feeling full until lunchtime, but is also highly nutritional. Ginger is good for your digestion, gives you greater vitality and helps to combat unwelcome energy dips. Biotona Curcuma enhances your natural resistance and keeps your skin healthy. A nourishing way to kick-start your day!

Ingredients (2 servings)
Quinoa 90 g
Apple, cored, peeled and chopped 1
Water, filtered 1 kopje (240 ml)
Amandelmelk ½ kopje + ½ kopje
Sea salt A pinch
Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
Biotona Curcuma ½ teaspoon
Biotona Ginger ½ teaspoon
Maple syrup or raw honey 2-3 teaspoons
Toppings:
Chopped apple 1
Raisins 2 handfuls
Crushed walnuts A handful
Cinnamon A pinch
Necessities
Saucepan
  • Add quinoa, chopped apple, water, ½ cup of almond milk and salt to a saucepan. Bring to a simmer, cover with a lid and let cook for about 20 minutes, or until all liquid is absorbed, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat, add the remaining half cup of almond milk, cinnamon, Biotona Curcuma, Biotona Ginger, and maple syrup or honey. Mix well.
  • Divide between two bowls, top with chopped apple, raisins, walnuts and cinnamon. Serve warm.
