Curcuma – pure gold for your health!
Curcuma is a plant from the ginger family from which the ochre-coloured spice known as turmeric is derived. This spice is widely used in Asian cooking and also has its place in the Ayurvedic tradition of Indian medicine, where it is prized for its anti-inflammatory properties, its beneficial effect on the liver and heart, and its contribution to oral hygiene. More recently, western medical research has also shown greater interest in the possible health-giving qualities of turmeric.
Biotona bio Curcuma Raw
Biotona bio Curcuma Raw is pure turmeric in powder form that can be used to support your general health and well-being. Thanks to its ‘raw’ processing, in which high temperatures are not used, the spice’s active components are retained to the greatest possible extent. This is not the case with many other curcuma-based powders. Biotona Curcuma not only improves the flexibility and health of all your joints, but is also good for your liver (it assists fat digestion) and for your nervous system. In addition, it combats inflammation, while its anti-oxidising properties help to protect your skin. Last but not least, turmeric gives a boost to your body’s natural resistance. The use of 5 to 15 grams per day is sufficient.
Curcuma in coffee
In Indian and Indonesian cuisine turmeric is used in curries and bumbus for its warm, slightly bitter and earthy flavour, which can enrich any sauce. Just as interestingly, this ochre-yellow spice gives a wonderful bright colour to rice and other dishes: a key factor in countries where the colour of food is almost as important as its taste. Turmeric is also great in coffee. A golden latte with a shot of espresso and a spoonful of turmeric is a real feel-good drink with a delightfully surprising flavour. You can also add Biotona Curcuma to smoothies or shakes in combination with fruits (juices), other superfoods, (vegetable) milk, yoghurt or water.
