Algae Chia Pudding
No time for breakfast? You can make this quick and easy algae chia pudding in advance. What’s more, it keeps you going all day long, giving you a real boost of energy and helping you to concentrate so much better. You can even prepare this unique (and bright green!) chia pudding in an on-the-go pot, so that you can eat it as a snack whenever you like. Its eye-catching colour is the result of the chlorophyll in the micro-algae, chlorella and spirulina. With their high concentrations of energy and nutritional building blocks, micro-algae form the basis for most food chains in aquatic environments.
Ingredients | |
---|---|
Unsweetened plant milk (oat or almond) | 1 cup |
Natural coconut yoghurt | 2 tablespoons |
Maple syrup | 2 tsp |
Natural vanilla extract | ½ tsp |
Biotona Chlorella | ½ tsp |
Biotona Spirulina | ½ tsp |
Biotona Black chia seeds | 4 tablespoons |
- Place plant milk, yoghurt, maple syrup, vanilla, chlorella and spirulina in a blender and blend until well combined.
- Transfer to a bowl, add chia seeds and use a whisk to mix everything together. Whisk several times during the first 10 minutes to avoid lumps.
- Place in the fridge and let soak for at least 30 minutes. After that time, transfer to smaller jars or bowls, top with your favourite toppings (banana slices, kiwi, coconut shreds) and enjoy!
- Tip: If you think algae flavour can be too strong for you or you are trying it for the first time, use only ½ teaspoon. You can also choose to use 1 teaspoon of either chlorella or spirulina instead of using both powders.
