What can this Ayurvedic root do for you?

Find out now!

Balance and energy with maca

Kilometres-high in the mountainous landscape of the Andes grows a remarkably hardy plant, whose beneficial properties were known to the earliest mountain dwellers and to the Incas. Maca is the only plant that can be cultivated at an altitude of up to 4,200 meters. The nutritional value of its tuberous root is exceptional, as well as having a positive effect on endurance and on your mental state.

Adaptogens

Just like the ancient Incas, stressed people in our own day and age can also benefit from the use of maca. Like ginseng, its effect is adaptogenic. This means that your energy and stress levels are regulated to remain at their normal values. Likewise, your hormone balance can also be adjusted efficiently by maca, compensating for either a too high or a too low rate of hormone production. And if your hormone levels are correct, you are guaranteed to feel in tip-top condition.

For this reason (in part, at least), maca has acquired the status of a fertility aid in the Andes and is popular with women who wish to become pregnant. There is insufficient scientific evidence to support this claim, but there is no harm in giving it a try for a while, bearing in mind that superfoods like maca can be consumed daily without any negative effects. Another important property of maca is its ability to purify the liver, by facilitating the removal of waste products from the body via your urine.
