What can this Ayurvedic root do for you?

Find out now!

Healthy grasses

You might think that eating grass is only something the cows and other grazing animals do – but you would be wrong! The juice that is pressed from wheat and barley grass makes an excellent healthy addition to your daily portion of fruit and vegetables.

Hectic modern society

Being healthy and staying healthy are only possible with a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits. But that is often easier said than done in our hectic modern society. Often, we don’t have the time to prepare healthy fresh meals or to eat enough fruit and veg. Wheat grass and barley grass powders can help you to make good these deficiencies, by offering you a quick and easy source of a wide range of beneficial properties.

Barley or wheat?

The difference between these two grasses is minimal in terms of composition. However, the taste is noticeably different, so it all depends which one you prefer. Barley grass has more of a bitter flavour, whereas wheat grass is sweeter. That’s all. In particular, the use of wheat grass sap for therapeutic purposes has been widely studied, amongst others by the holistic medical practitioner, Dr. Ann Wigmore. During the 1940s, she collected numerous testimonies from people who claimed to have improved their health with the help of wheat grass juice. As a result, wheat grass was one of the first foodstuffs to be recognised as a superfood.

Energy and vitality

Whoever uses wheat grass and barley grass powder will soon find themselves bursting with energy and vitality. One of the most important characteristics of these grasses is that they are extremely rich in chlorophyll, which has a very positive impact on our blood circulation system. It increases the level of oxygen in the blood, as well as having a purifying effect. In addition, chlorophyll also supports the detoxifying processes of the liver, making you feel fitter as a result. Last but not least, wheat grass juice has also been shown to reduce the incidence of stomach and intestinal complaints, which again boosts your energy levels. Barley grass has been proven to have a positive influence on the cardiac and vascular systems, as well as on the total level of cholesterol in the blood. Finally, the green juice of both wheat grass and barley grass contains a powerful anti-oxidant that neutralises free radicals.

A green smoothie with Biotona Bio Wheat Grass Powder Raw or Biotona Bio Barley Grass Powder Raw can serve as a snack to still your hunger between meals and is ideal to give you a ‘green’ energy boost. However, it is recommended not to drink a green grass smoothie immediately before or after a meal, since this limits the body’s ability to absorb and make best use of all the many health-giving nutrients.
