Ingredients:
1 tsp. of Biotona Camu camu + Acerola Raw
150 g blueberries (freezer or fresh)
A handful of fresh mint
1/2 avocado
500 ml cashew milk or almond milk
Use the blender to mix everything into a smoothie
and finish with mint leaves and fresh blueberries.
WHERE DO ALL THESE INGREDIENTS COME FROM AND HOW DO THEY BENEFIT YOU?
Biotona Bio Camu camu & Acerola Raw is a mixture of 100% biological acerola and camu camu powder. Camu camu is a yellow to purple-red fruit that grows on trees in the Amazon region of South America. The camu camu in this powder comes from Peru. Studies show that camu camu contains about 2% vitamin C, depending on the maturity of the fruit. By comparison: a lemon, also known for its high vitamin C value, only contains 0.5%. Camu camu fruits are also rich in potassium, iron, calcium, phosphorus and amino acids.
The second ingredient, acerola or West Indian cherry, grows on the Antilles and in Central and South America. The acerola in this product are harvested in Brazil. The round, fleshy berries measure three to six centimetres in diameter. The red colour of these fruits indicates a high level of antioxidants. Acerola is another important source of vitamin C: the berry contains as much as 30 to 100 times more vitamin C than an orange. Moreover, acerola is also rich in proteins and minerals.
HOW ARE THE FRUITS TURNED INTO POWDER?
Immediately after harvesting, the berries undergo a freeze-drying process that turns them into a powder, whose flavour, scent and colour closely resembles the fresh berries. This drying process optimally preserves the fruits’ nutrients.
