Biotona Matcha is of the very highest quality, which means that it is made exclusively from fresh young tealeaves from the first harvesting (in May). These leaves are exceptionally rich in important nutrients. For three to five weeks before harvesting the tea shrubs are 90% covered with tarpaulins, so that they are in the shade. To make up for the resulting lack of sunlight, the leaves produce extra chlorophyll.
