Kombu, a primeval brown seaweed with a delicious ‘umami’ taste, is packed with nature’s phytonutrients. Biotona Bio Kombu Raw is made from organically cultivated Kombu, which grows on rocks in the cold, pure water of the Atlantic Ocean and is carefully picked by hand. After harvesting, the seaweed is immediately dried at low temperature (less than 40°C), so that its full nutritional value is preserved.

Add 1 g of Biotona Bio Kombu Raw to 1 l of water and boil for at least 5 minutes, until the water becomes aromatized. Remove the kombu and use the stock in soups, (sushi)rice, casseroles, sauces or for the cooking of fish, shellfish or meat. Limit consumption of the stock to 100 ml per day. Kombu is also an essential ingredient in dashi (a basic Japanese stock). You can add this extra healthy 'umami' touch to many different recipes.
